How to choose a wine cooler ? Compare and find the best.
Most of the time, what comes to mind first when we talk about wine coolers is a table cooler, a pack of ice that goes around the bottle to keep it warm in the garden, or a metallic ice bucket to keep wine cold on the table. What we’re talking about here is something quite different. The modern wine cooler is essentially an extra fridge that is designed especially for wine.
Having an extra fridge in your kitchen might seem like a big or awkward thing to do, especially if you don’t have much space. However, wine cooler designers have considered all the different needs and requirements of the individual user. Essentially, wine coolers are fridges specially designed to cool wine to the perfect temperature.
Slimline Wine Coolers
You can get a slimline wine cooler which fits nicely by the side of your fridge or another kitchen appliance, or in a spare corner of your kitchen. These usually hold a minimum of seven bottles of wine. These can be as little as 15 centimetres in width, meaning they can basically slot in anywhere you have space. If you imagine seven bottled of wine stacked one on top of the other, you’ll have an idea of how little space this takes up.
Big Wine Drinkers
At the other end of the scale, if you’re going to have huge parties or just want a wide selection of your favourite wines kept cold and ready at all times, you can get a wine cooler that will cool up to 60 bottles at any one time. These are of course a bulkier product and will probably be about 60 by 90 centimetres in size, meaning you’ll need a little more available space for the unit. You can of course get much bigger wine coolers, which hold hundreds of bottles, but these are usually for businesses and if you choose this option you are essentially looking at buying a second fridge.
