Where to buy a Universal remote control ?

There are a number of places you can buy a remote control from. This part of the article will advise you as to where you might look for a remote, whether you are after a state of the art universal remote to control your 15 device home entertainment system or whether you just want to turn on your standard TV! There are two main options, as with most products. You can either order one online, or look for one on your local high street or in your town centre.

Buying a Remote Control Online

One of the best options for universal remote controls, whether you are buying online or on the high street, is Curry’s. They stock many models and cater for every price range. Most of the models available here are available at Curry’s. They have an easy to use website as well which allows you to compare all the products and summarises the spec of each for you so that you can make the right choice very easily. Amazon also offer some good deals on remote controls and you can probably get a better deal here if you are just looking for the cheapest possible kind of replacement remote. Be careful if you’re looking to buy on Ebay because many of the remote controls on there may be broken and it will be difficult to verify if the remote is compatible with your product. These remotes are so cheap that buying a second hand one is really not a sensible option.

Buying a Remote on the High Street

There are a number of high street stores that will sell you a decent remote control. As mentioned above, a Curry’s or PC World is an excellent option here. If you don’t have access to one of these stores you could also try major supermarkets as they sometimes stock these products in their electrical sections. Its better to check first though because whilst these stores list remote controls online, you will often find that they are not in stock. Another option is Maplin, who offer a good range of remotes at most of their stores, though they tend not to be the cheapest place to buy from. Some hardware store will sell the more basic remotes but are less likely to stock the state of the art universal remotes for complex home entertainment systems.

Whichever type of remote you want, the first thing to do is assess your individual needs. Check how many compatible devices you own and think about the benefits of being able to control these from one central point. If you’re going to get a brilliant new universal remote then you’ll need a relatively complex and varied set of home entertainment devices in order to get the most out of it. Once you’ve worked out which remote is right for you, check out the stores and online retailers discussed here and work out where you can get the best deals and discounts on the remote you need.
